DSM Marathon Week 8 update

I was 2 miles short for total mileage this week. 14 during week and 18 on long run. Long run last week was on Sunday and this weeks ended up being on Saturday, so with rest days before and after, I only had 3 days to run during the week.
Saturday's long run went great. 18 miles at a 8:45 pace, which was 5 sec faster then my 16 mile runs and 15 sec faster then my 10 and 14 mile runs.

DSM Marathon Week 7 update

Still on track, did 16 miles during week and a 16 mile long run on Sunday. Was traveling over weekend, so long run was done in Chicago suburb, solo. I was able to maintain my normal 9min/mile pace. I didn't have water stations, like Running Wild provides, so I had to carry a bottle of water. Luckily there was a Burger King at about mile 8 and I was able to fill it up.

I know, I'm writing this a little early, but I am going to be gone this weekend so I actually have already completed all of my running for the week.

DSM Marathon Week 6 update

Week 6- July 26-8/1:
Monday - rest
Tuesday - 2 mi run
Wednesday - rest
Thursday - 3 mi run
Friday - 35 mile bike
Saturday - 10 mi run (5k race in between the 10 miles)
Sunday - rest

DSM Here I come! (10/17)

Although the last few weeks I have been trying to stick with some marathon training in preparation for the Des Moines marathon in October, it has been difficult and I really have only succeeded in consistently doing my long run on Sundays with Rick at Running Wild.
