Week 4 + Nationals

Last week flew by without too much training. Mainly because we were preparing for, and driving to Nationals. Once again, it was an amazing trip. Even though we were in the same town as last year (and they don't know what sidewalks are) it was even better than I expected. Even though they only made minor changes to the course, everything seemed to go smoother and work better.
NATIONALS!!!

I am soooo glad that I decided to make nationals my first triathlon. Not only did I have a great time with everyone on the trip, but the whole experience was amazing. I just wanted to say thanks to everyone for making my first triathlon such a memorable experience!
Week 3 + cross training

This weekend, my little brother came to town. Like many close siblings, we are very competitive with each other. More so than the average family. My brother doesn't do triathlons, run, bike, or swim though. We play racquetball and badminton. Seriously. Most people wouldn't think you can get any real workout from those two sports... come and watch us play sometime.

wet and slippery
Today was raining all day long so Kendall and I planned our last hard run session before tapering for nationals. The last few weeks we've been doing 6 x 2 min. repeat hills at max effort with a tempo threshold run of 27 - 28 minutes right after the hills so we were going to do the same workout one last time. First off Kendall proposes the idea to run at 8 pm instead of 3:30 pm since it's raining.
Week 2

This week the weather has not cooperated as well as I would have liked. I only had one outdoor bike ride (the weekend). But I suppose it will be awhile before I can ride outside at 6:30am like I want to. I may have to switch to evening rides for a few weeks, just so I can get off that damned trainer.
