I have finally solidified my ability to run a sub-6 mile! Prior to this year my mile PR time was a 5:59, just close enough to a 6:00 that I couldn't justify myself as a sub-6 runner because the timing wasn't exact seeing as how I usually time myself on a mile route in my neighborhood that I have mapped with my bicycle and confirmed with mapmyrun.com.

So far week 8 is a rest week. Just some cardio, no weights. I have not been on my race bike since last Sat (8/1) in Palo. Just a few short 2-4 mile rides with kids on mt bike.

Saturday I did the P90X stretch video, then went to the Fieldhouse to participate in the Navy Seal Challenge. Results are here:

To end week 6, I tried spin on Wed and my left knee was still sore. So, I took Thursday off as a real rest day. Friday started week 7 P90X, I did Chest, Shoulder, Tri's in the morning. No other cardio, saving it for Sat's practice in Palo.

Camped in IL Fri-Sun and was able to get some open water swimming in. Saturday, I setup laptop on picnic table at camp site and did plyometrics, then a 3.5 mile run around lake. Then drank for 14 hrs straight!!! Talk about carb loading. Flippy cup at 1am was probably not the best idea.

My short 7 mile bike ride to Solon on Sat still bothered my left knee while climbing, so I took Sunday off. Ibuprofen and iced it Sunday. Thought it felt better Monday morning, so I did a 15 mile ride and 2 mile run (brick) at lunch-time. Knee felt fine unitl mile 10, then I was just spinning back last 5 miles. Felt fine on run. I did yoga Monday night hoping the stretching would help.
